报告摘要:This talk will provide an interim review of mathematical modeling and analysis research work conducted at the Laboratory for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (LIAM), that has been completely driven by policy issues in different stages of the COVID-19 pandemic. I will focus on the need and challenge of identifying contact mixing patterns during a rapidly evolving pandemic, and designing the optimal pathways towards reopening the economy under substantial medical resource constraints and public behavioural uncertainties. I will also share my view about capacity needs for a large research team to play a useful role to interact with decision makers to inform decision making.
吴建宏教授简介: 1983、1985、1987年分获湖南大学学士、硕士、博士学位,湖南大学第一位博士,现任加拿大应用数学首席教授(Canada Research Chair),加拿大约克大学数学与统计学院终身教授,湖南大学客座教授,西安交通大学长江学者讲座教授。吴建宏教授是传染病建模和大数据信息分析的联合主编,同时是《J. Mathematical Biology》和《IEEE Transactions on the Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence》等期刊的编委会成员;担任菲尔兹研究所委托的加拿大国家COVID-19大流行快速响应建模工作组的负责人,是省(安大略省)和联邦(加拿大)建模专家组成员。在Kluwer、AMS/Fields、Springer、Wiley等出版社出版专著8 部,编著14 部,发表学术论文350多篇。研究方向包括动力系统、神经网络和模式识别、生物数学和流行病学。获得了包括加拿大女王钻石禧功勋章(Queen's Diamond Jubilee medal)、York大学终身杰出特聘教授(University Distinguished Research Professor)、终身Fields Institute Fellow、加拿大华人专业人士杰出成就奖、加拿大新先锋科技奖等在内的10余项学术成就奖。
